N.E.S. Warning sign: is when the person eats more food after dinner

than during the meal itself.

 

You has little or no food until later in the day.

 

Gets Upset about how much was eaten the night before.

 

Foods eaten are sugary and starchy.

 

Wakes frequently and eats then, after not sleeping well.

 

Night eating syndrome is when a person eats most of there allowance
of calories at the end of the day, but may begin to eat more and more
until they excessively full after that.

Rumination syndrome

Rumination is the voluntary / involuntary regurgitating and

rechewing of partially digested food.

 

It may occur one or many times.

 

Is affiliated with anxiety and/or depression

 

Warning signs may be bad breath, inhaling food, and indigestion

Excercise Bulimia

Warning Signs: Life revolves around exercising, miss social activities to

exercise, work out for hours at a time, and you have a preoccupation
with your calories.

Medical Problems Include: Low body fat, fatigue, arthritis,

dehydration, reproductive problems, and heart problems.

 

Exercise Bulimia is when a person makes up for what they eat by
exercising  for long periods of time. They purge by exercising, as they
take off the weight the guilt leaves to.

Body Dysmorphic Disorder

B.D.D. is a preoccupation with a real or imagined defect in your

body.

 

You don’t like how you look

 

You can get help.

There are 2 ways to get help for B.D.D. 1). Medication 2). Talk

Therapy.

 

Many people don’t think that there condition is “serious” when it actually  is.

 

B.D.D. can lead to other eating disorders.
 

B.D.D. is kind of like looking into a fun house mirror for some people. the distortion is worse than others.

Bulimia Nervosa

When you eat a lot of food in a short time, after they feel mad for

 eating, then end up either throwing up , taking laxatives, exercising
excessively, eating little or nothing.

Signs of bulimia are: rough skin on knuckles, clear teeth, swollen jaw,

exercising to much, using dieting pills, going to the bathroom right
after eating.

 

Problems from bulimia: Dehydration, heart problems, electrolyte
disturbances, gastrointestinal problems

Anorexia Nervosa

Warnings: dramatic weight loss, in women missing 3 periods, feels cold

allot or has no energy, and Dry, lifeless hair; brittle nails, poor skin
tone.

Anorexia is when people have an intense fear of gaining weight. They

think a lot about food…how much how little none at all.

Medical Problems From Anorexia are: heart rate, blood pressure,

breathing rate, body temperature, reduced sleep, missed or
infrequent periods for women, failure in liver or kidneys.

Eating Disorders In Kids

Eating Disorders Have Become Very Common For Kids Between The Ages of 9-13.

They Are Also More common among girls than boys.

Sports Such as dance, Gymnastics, and wrestling are said to be a possible cause for the emphasis on Leanness.

If someone in your family has an eating disorder you are more likely to get it, genetics.

Kids with Parents who have drugs or Alcohol around are also more likely than those who do not.

Media is also said to contribute to the raise in eating disorders.

In A Poll taken 42% of first to third graders said they want to be thinner.

But 81% said they are afraid of being overweight.

Ways to try to keep kids (or anyone) from getting
eating disorders is to..

 
Care About them

Keep Alcohol and Drugs Away.

Tell them they are great just the way they are

 

Help Them to realize they have a problem if they
have a disorder and need to get help.

 

 Make them realize it doesn’t make them a bad
person.
